Article and Interview by Elise Cooper

Falling for His Nashville Nurse by Janice Lynn is a story of overcoming past relationship disappointments. This is considered a medical romance where Lynn uses her professional experiences to write a heartfelt story.

The heroine, Everleigh Bennett, is determined to focus her energy on her job, her son, and her mother. She swore off romance following her divorce from Bryan who left her and her son soon after she gave birth. That is, until she meets Dr. Wryn Cooper at the clinic where they both work. She and he have an instant connection, and both realize they are attracted to each other. Janice Lynn said of the heroine, “She is a realist, single mom, family centered, protective, and humble.”

But each has some demons in their life that they must overcome. She does not trust her instincts about him, and he believes he cannot get involved with anyone who has a child after leaving behind a son he fathered. At the request of his ex, Wryn signed off custody without meeting his son first.

Said Lynn, “Wryn is kind, smart, charming, successful, likable, confident, self-assured, funny, patient, and feels guilty about giving up a child. On the surface, he seems like a guy who has it all together.”

The story has readers wondering if they will have their happily ever after or will their past get in the way.
Lynn added, “They are attracted to each other at first. But after her disastrous relationship with Bryan, she has built walls and is uneasy because Wryn puts her out of her comfort zone. They consider each other friendly co-workers. She is guarded because when she was with Bryan, he was very negative towards her and uttered verbal abuse against Everleigh. He always chastised her, calling her stupid and worthless. He tried to get into her head.”

A bonus is readers will learn more about people with diabetes. Lynn said, “I have a master’s in nursing degree and work as a nurse practitioner for 27 years. I also have written for a long time. I like to educate readers about medical issues. In this book I had the heroine’s mother have diabetes. I do this so people can learn about a disease process or how to deal with a disease process.”

Not only does Lynn write compelling medical romances she also has a series that delves into PTSD, showing how either the hero or heroine can overcome that issue. She said, “I write two series, the medical romance and the stories of PTSD with veterans. The book coming out in November centers on PTSD of veterans. This time the heroine will have PTSD. She was a military helicopter pilot who had a crash and everyone on board but her were killed. She lost her pilot’s license. In these books I do show how the hero and heroine can overcome these issues. It is titled, Wrapped Up in Christmas Faith.”
